Ryan Roderick, CFAFounder & CIO
Ryan Roderick is the Founder and Managing Partner of Lucashill, a strategic investment firm focused on alternative investments. With over 25 years of experience in the alternative investment industry, Ryan has developed a deep expertise in manager selection, portfolio construction, and value creation across partnerships for both Limited Partners (LPs) and General Partners (GPs).
Before founding Lucashill, Ryan had a distinguished career at Goldman Sachs, where he played a key role in the firm’s hedge fund business. He joined Goldman Sachs prior to its public offering and shortly after the acquisition of Commodities Corporation, a pioneer in alternative investing. During his nearly two-decade tenure, Ryan held various senior leadership roles as a Managing Director, including Portfolio Manager of the $10 billion Equity Long/Short Fund, Chief Operating Officer of the Hedge Fund Strategies business, and Head of AIMS Labs. He was instrumental in launching Goldman’s hedge fund seeding business, and as portfolio manager identified and supported emerging fund managers.
Ryan’s passion for leadership and high-performance teams led him to conduct a multi-year research project on the traits and behaviors that contribute to top-tier fund performance. This research culminated in a quantitative framework for manager selection that continues to inform Lucashill’s investment approach today.
Ryan is a CFA charterholder and holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois. He served as the Chair of the Board for Turnaround for Children from 2018-2025 and is on the advisory committee for Invest for Kids.
